New? We would love to help!
Welcome Home to Chestnut Street Baptist Church!
We strive to be an encouraging environment that allows folks to come as they are and safely explore a faith in the life giving message of Jesus. Why do we say life giving? We believe that Jesus is the "Good News". He is the "scandal" that challenges every culture and every society throughout history. Ultimately Jesus, a person, is Emmanuel; God with us. He is a gift to be received, and that gift is the ultimate source of all hope for our very broken world. The Gospel is good news — the good news of what God has done (not anything I do or haven't done) through Jesus Christ. In summary: we are sinful, forgiven, and eternally thankful.
What to Expect
YOU BELONG HERE
A Warm Welcome
When you step into our church, we hope you feel at home. We all come from different backgrounds, stages of life, and deal with different struggles. But Sundays here are a safe space to show up as you are and be welcomed here like family. Our usherers will be hanging out in the foyer and upstairs in the sanctuary, and they are excited to meet you and help you in any way!

GOD STILL SPEAKS
Sermons from the Bible
We practice expository, verse-by-verse preaching. When you leave after hearing a sermon you know what God’s word means and how we can apply it to our lives and live it out. Every sermon is about Jesus and the Gospel. God’s word asks 3 fundamental questions: What does the passage say about people? What does the passage say about God? What does the passage say about the Gospel?
“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” Hebrews 1:1-2
Jesus came to share good news some 2,000 years ago, and He’s still speaks to us today through His Word!
SUNDAY WORSHIP
The Only Response
When we fully realize God’s love and substitution, the only right response is worship. We worship God every single day through our actions, time, and resources. Sundays, we get to worship Him with one another through songs, praise, and prayer. Our Worship Team leads in worship each week, praising God for what He’s done, what he will do, and asking Him to do more with us.
GROWING IN YOUR FAITH AND CHURCH FAMILY
Connection
As you seek to grow in your faith we are committed to providing not only resources, but groups where you can connect to community, become more like Jesus, and impact your community for Christ.
EVERYONE
A Family Place
CSBC is a safe place for all ages and any stage of life. Years in the faith or brand new, young or old, married or single, your spiritual health matters to us. Every Sunday, we have safe spaces for kids and students to experience Jesus and grow in community together.
SMALL GROUPS
Who Are You Pouring Into?
Who Is Pouring Into You?
We were created to be in relationship, not only with God, but with one another. When we gather and grow in our faith together, we experience life as God intended–in community. Spiritual transformation happens best when we join an authentic and caring group, centered on Scripture, where we can acknowledge our true brokenness and seek healing and transformation that can only come from God.
We invite you to join our small groups (home groups) to begin your journey in real community.

Fellowship
What is “fellowship”? What does fellowship look like? It looks like togetherness.
The early church spent time learning together. Worshiped together. Shared meals together. When necessary they sold their belongings to share with those in need.
Our fellowship is made stronger by celebrating our fellowship we have in Jesus. Confessing our sins to one another. Praying with one another. Singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with one another. Sharing in the Lord’s Supper and regular meals. Laboring with one another to spread the gospel and help those in need. Getting to really know each other - our spiritual strengths and weaknesses.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”(Hebrews 10:24-25).
HANDICAP ACCESS/ELEVATOR
We have a handicap access and an elevator on the west side of our building and someone will be available to help you.
PARKING
Parking (which can be a real challenge during Summer) can be found out front on Chestnut Street, behind our building, and anywhere around town.
